Common Marketing Mistakes

1
Not having a (strong) website
In today's world, having a website is a necessity. It's the first place potential customers look to get more information about your business.
2
Not researching your target (audience) a.k.a customers
So you just started your business.. Great! Who is your target audience (your ideal customer)? If you don't have a specific answer then it's time to start doing some research.
3
Not being consistent and committed with content
As a small business owner myself, I know it can be hard to stay on top of creating new content and posting it to your social pages on a regular basis. However, it's key to staying connected with your customers.
How to overcome those mistakes
Share your story
What inspired you to start your business? Has it been in the family for generations? What's unique about your company?
People want to know who's behind the amazing products or services you offer. Customers are more likely to purchase if they feel connected.
Leverage Social Media
If you aren't using social media to show off your products or services, you should start today! This is often the first place (besides your website) that potential customers look to have a better idea on what to expect before they make the decision to reach out.
Rewards or Referrals
Happy customers talk to potential customers. If you have repeat buyers make sure you reward them for telling their friends and family. This could be in the form of % off their next purchase or giving a "free" upgrade or gift of some sort.
